Booking
Do I need to download an app?
No. You can book from this site with no app and no account. There is a free XTaxi24 app if you want saved addresses and ride history.
How far ahead can I pre-book?
Several weeks. For early-morning Gatwick runs, booking the night before is recommended.
Can I book for someone else (a parent, friend, child)?
Yes. Enter their pickup, their phone number for the tracking SMS and your email for the receipt. Use the notes field if you want to flag any access requirements.
Can I add stops on the way?
Yes \u2014 up to three additional stops. Tick \u201cAdd stop-off\u201d on the booking form. The fare adjusts to include the extra distance and time.
Can I book a wait-and-return?
Yes. The driver waits at your destination and brings you back. The waiting time charge is shown clearly before you confirm.
Cancellations & changes
How do I cancel a booking?
Reply CANCEL to your booking SMS, or call 01444 718 418. Cancellations made before a driver is dispatched are free.
Is there a cancellation fee?
If a driver has already been dispatched (typically within 5\u201310 minutes of your pickup time) a call-out charge may apply. The charge depends on how far the driver has travelled. We\u2019ll always tell you upfront before charging anything.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
Nothing on your side. We monitor your flight using the number you provide and shift the pickup automatically. The 45-minute free wait starts from when the flight actually lands.
The journey
How will I know who my driver is?
You\u2019ll receive an SMS with the driver\u2019s name, photo, vehicle make / colour and registration as soon as a driver is assigned. Always check these match before getting in.
Can I track my driver?
Yes \u2014 the SMS includes a live tracking link, no app needed. You can share it with a friend or family member.
What if the driver can\u2019t find me?
They\u2019ll call the number on the booking. If you don\u2019t answer, the dispatcher will call us back. Make sure your phone is on and not in silent / DND.
Vehicles & accessibility
How many people fit in each vehicle?
Standard 4-seater takes 4 passengers + 3 cases. 6-seater MPV: 6 passengers + 4\u20135 cases. 8-seater minibus: 8 passengers + 6\u20137 cases.
Are wheelchair-accessible taxis available?
Yes. Tick \u201cWheelchair Accessible Vehicle Required\u201d on the booking form. These vehicles take ~30% longer for the same journey due to careful loading; the price reflects the longer journey time.
Do you provide child seats?
Yes \u2014 tick the child or baby seat option when booking. There\u2019s a small flat fee per seat. Mention the child\u2019s age in the notes if you\u2019re not sure which seat type fits.
Are pets allowed?
Yes \u2014 tick the pet option so a pet-friendly driver is assigned. Most cars take well-behaved dogs at no extra charge; large or muddy dogs are easier in an MPV.
Payment & receipts
Cash or card?
Both. Pay the driver at the end of the trip. Every vehicle has a card terminal that takes contactless, chip-and-PIN, Apple Pay and Google Pay.
Do I get a receipt?
Yes, automatically by email. Need a VAT-style invoice? Reply to the receipt email.
Should I tip the driver?
Optional. Round up the local fare or \u00a32\u2013\u00a35 on an airport run if you\u2019re happy with the service. 100% of tips go to the driver.
Other
Are your drivers licensed?
Yes. All bookings are dispatched to drivers licensed by Mid Sussex District Council (or, for cross-border journeys, by an equivalent council). Every driver carries a council photo badge.
What about lost property?
Reply to your booking SMS as soon as you realise. We\u2019ll contact the driver while your details are fresh and arrange a return. Most items are recovered within 24 hours.
